Dictionary.com defines the word gratitude as "the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful."
However, for me, gratitude is much more than just a feeling. Gratitude is the reason I wake up every morning. It's the reason I returned to my dream 10 years after throwing in the towel. Gratitude, for me, is everything.
If you've followed my blog, then you know my story. You know that it took a broken heart for me to realize the passion I left behind was exactly what I needed most in my life.
I found an online community built around the idea of gratitude. It's called GratitudeLog. And just one look at your homepage and you'll realize this isn't your typical online community.
As soon as you log into the site, the homepage posts a question in large text: "What are you grateful for?"

And here what a few members of this community answered:
{Timoteo Arao}: For feeling able and ready to go beyond the habitual and the common
Sheilah Sterling: We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we are or where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere.~~C.H.Spurgeon
Markie Bear: To be in a position where I can provide true assistance that will make a difference in the lives of others.
The site's motto calls GratitudeLog "The Happiest Place on the Internet," and I can say this might just be true. The members are so uplifting and inspiring... and happy about life, despite challenges that come their way.
In addition to posting what you grateful for, you can also appreciate members with free virtual gifts and messages of encouragement.
I've been on the site for less than a week, and here a couple appreciations I've already received:
Debbie Josuweit: A gratitude rock for your continued inspirational writing. Thank you for lifting me up. Continued well wishes for your voice. God Bless.
Brenda Mcaleer: Hey Ivy Thanks for the follow I Love your energy you sound like an breath of fresh air so happy you are here on this Amazing Journey with us ~!~ Sending you many Blessings of Love Light Joy & Abundance in all areas of your life today and every day~!~xXx
What an excited idea to have a site that glorifies the good in life. I have to say it's definitely a place where I feel at home.
