It's not often I come across a song that completely sums up my feelings about a certain situation, let alone about life in general.

The more involved I get in church planning, the more I realize the need to get back to the root of why we do all this church stuff in the first place. From doctrines and bylaws to traditions and statistics, it just seems like we're getting away from Jesus. He's the reason for all of this.

Jason Gray sums it up perfectly.

I'm having a really hard time admitting where I found inspiration today, because it was in one of the most unlikely of places. But if I didn't admit it and share the inspiration with you, then it truly wouldn't be UnscriptedLife. Today's inspiration came in the most random fashion.

Let me explain. I was playing with Speedy in the living room when I decided to search for a movie on OnDemand. I went straight to the premium channels and then the kids section. I scrolled through cartoon after cartoon, wondering what I could find that would be toddler friendly but still give me the much deserved break from talking animals. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against animated animals, but when the first song that pops into your head is from Nick Jr. or Playhouse Disney... you need to step away from the preschool shows.

I stumbled upon "Hannah Montana: The Movie." My first reaction was "next," but then my options started looking dim. So I swallowed my pride and went back to Miss Hannah Montana.

My expectation for the movie were... well... not much really. I have seen the TV show, and it's a little cheesy. But it is very appropriate for the audience. I didn't expect much more than what I had seen from the one episode of the TV show I've watched. Red-faced (for many reasons) I admit that I could not have been more wrong. This movie was fantastic. It really renewed my faith in myself and my journey back into music.

Here's a clip from the movie. I highly recommend it. Kudos Miley Cyrus. Not like you need to hear from some random blogger, but thank you. Thank you for the inspiration.

This is my song for this week. We can all relate to "one of those days."

Take if Joy:

I have to admit, I am not a loyal American Idol fan. In years past, I've tuned in to the last few shows to see what the next hot talent rolling out of Hollywood. But to be honest, it's just not a show that has been able to keep my attention in years past. I don't know why, I just couldn't get into it (call off the dog Idol Fanatics, I have nothing against the show or you).

Last night, I stumbled upon the show while trying to avoid ABC (I was recording Lost on the DVR so Sweet-D and I could watch it together). I witnessed a performance that just might make me watch American Idol more often. Check it out below:

OK Go has given me a new addition to my Bucket List. Check out their newest video, which was released on YouTube Monday.
